At the regular sitting of Milli Majlis on 5 March, in the first reading discussed was the Draft “On intelligence and counter-intelligence activity”.

The Law regulates in the country legal relations bound with realization of intelligence and counter-intelligence activity, establishes system of legal guarantees for implementing measures connected with intelligence and counter-intelligence, Deputy Speaker of Milli Majlis, chairman of the permanent commission on issues of security and defense Ziyafet Askarov said.

In the course of discussions, underlined was significance of the Draft from the standpoint of protection of the national interests. Along with this, the parliamentarians made remarks and proposals concerning social security of the employees of bodies of intelligence and counter-intelligence, political extremism, preservation of state secret and other issues.

Representatives of the ministry of national security, defense, special state service, state frontier service made their suggestions.

The Law was adopted in the first reading.
